Hackney Council aims to recruit 300 Welcome to Hackney volunteers who will welcome visitors to the borough and help the Games time events run smoothly, including the BBC Radio 1 Hackney Weekend 2012. There are two types of volunteer role available – Event Volunteers, who are assigned to specific events to help with hosting and stewarding, and Ambassador Volunteers who will work at key locations across the borough providing information and assistance to visitors at Games time.
