Volunteer Managers’ Forum
Volunteer Centre Hackney runs a quarterly forum for local Volunteer Managers, giving them a chance to support each other and to stay abreast of current thinking in the field. Members share their insights and experiences, knowledge, information and good practice with each other. Everyone who manages volunteers as part of their role (whether they are paid or a volunteer themselves) is welcome to attend and there is no cost for participants.
David Russell, volunteer manager at Outward has been attending the forum for the last three years. He told us why he finds the forum worthwhile:
One of the most helpful services of the Centre are the volunteer managers’ forums where we can meet and share our work issues and solve problems for each other. Meeting volunteer managers from a wide range of organisations gives a valuable insight to the many approaches out there as well as a great way to learn new things and keep in touch with local organisations.’
