Volunteering England – a national volunteer development agency committed to supporting, enabling and celebrating volunteering in all its diversity.  They link research, policy innovation, good practice and grant making in the involvement of volunteers. Their “Good Practice Bank” includes information sheets, policy templates and case studies about volunteer management.

Volunteer Management Portal – Volunteering England’s Volunteer Management Portal acts as a gateway to the world of volunteer management with links to over a thousand resources and information on support, training and development opportunities for people managing volunteers.

Greater London Volunteering – regional umbrella organisation for volunteering in London. Members include Volunteer Centres and Volunteer Development Agencies covering every borough of Greater London. Their main focus is to generate more volunteering activity in Greater London.  They can help organisations promote pan-London volunteering opportunities via the Volunteer Centre network. They also seek to inform and influence local and regional government, decision-makers and funders on the value of quality, coordinated volunteering activity.

If you are recruiting volunteers for a specific event then, as well as registering your opportunity at VCH, you can promote it through this pan-London calendar of events, searchable by anyone looking to  volunteer on a specific day.  The site also includes guidance on how to involve volunteers in your event.

Experts in Volunteering – a project of Greater London Volunteering, funded by the Big Lottery Fund.  They aim to build the capacity of volunteer involving organisations so that they are managing volunteers well and providing Londoners with fulfilling volunteering experiences. This is done using a volunteering Health Check and Charter.

Investing in Volunteers – the UK quality standard for organisations which involve volunteers in their work. The Standard enables organisations to comprehensively review their volunteer management, and also publicly demonstrates their commitment to volunteering. Volunteer Centre Hackney is a recognised Investing in Volunteers Partner, meaning we can offer expert support and guidance to organisations thinking about or going through the assessment.

Hackney Council for Voluntary Services – Hackney CVS promotes and supports the development of the voluntary and community sector in Hackney. They provide training, advice and support for local community groups and represent the voluntary sector in the borough.

Institute for Volunteering Research – If you need information about the value of volunteering for individuals and organisations then this is the place to look. The information collected here may provide evidence for funding bids or be of use when trying to influence policy makers around volunteering.  They now have an online “Evidence Bank” of all their research since 1997.

i-volunteer – This is a new social network that connects volunteers, charities and volunteer managers across the UK.
