Chatsworth Road
Lunch Club Volunteers
Chatsworth Road Methodist Lunch Club is seeking committed, reliable volunteers to help with the preparation of meals for its members, served in-house on Thursdays, and fro distribution to homes on Mondays and Wednesdays. The Club is also looking for volunteers with a variety of skills and experience to help us continue to run a much-needed service for its members including drivers, hosts, administration and fundraising volunteers.

Young Hackney
Adventure Playground Workers
Do you want to work with children and young people? Young Hackney are looking for volunteers to help support their sessions in adventure playgrounds in Hackney Marsh and Shoreditch Park. Sessions run Tuesdays – Fridays between 3pm and 7pm and on Saturdays between 12pm and 5pm.

Hackney Caribbean Elderly Organisation
Budgeting Volunteer
HCEO are looking for motivated people to help provide support to the poorest elders in the Hackney community with managing their finances. As a Budgeting Volunteer, you’ll take part in a free three month financial training programme. You will be working with the wider community but will assist HCEO and its sister organisations – the African Pensioners Club, Holly Street Lunch Club and the Factory’s Asian Elderly project.

Intergenerational Volunteers
Are you aged 60+ and want to give something back to the community? Hestia Women’s Aid Group are seeking volunteers aged 60+ to participate in activities including play sessions, storytelling and homework clubs and/or pass on their skills and knowledge of crafts, DIY, gardening, cooking, dancing and more to the women and children living in refuges across London. Life experience is more important than any formal qualifications for these roles.

Shoreditch Spa
Bump Buddies
Help local mums-to-be get the most out of their pregnancy. Bump Buddies are a team of trained mothers who work as messengers in our communities. Through word of mouth, outreach and a 1-to-1 befriending service, volunteers empower women to engage with maternity services, make healthy choices and address the wider issues which are impacting on their wellbeing. The only qualifications you need are that you have experience of being a mother and live in Hackney. Full training provided.

Hoxton Hall
Receptionist/Events and Venue Assistant
Hoxton Hall is looking for a friendly, welcoming person to greet visitors to the venue. As the first point of contact for members of the public visiting Hoxton Hall you will be undertaking reception and administration duties, including greeting people, signing people in and directing them to the appropriate room or member of staff. We’re looking for someone with a good telephone manner, computer literacy and able to communicate with a range of different people.

St Joseph’s Hospice
Complementary Therapists , Palliative and End of Life Care – Various roles
St. Joseph’s Hospice Hackney provides a wide range of complementary therapies to patients in End-of-Life care, their families, and carers. As a member of a large and friendly team of Complementary Therapists you will be providing one-to-one treatments to inpatients and outpatients in our designated treatment area `Finding Space` and on the wards. Marie Curie Cancer Care is one of the UK’s largest charities, and cares for people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses. If you are looking to gain retail experience, this role is ideal as you will be assisting in the day-to- day running of a Marie Curie Cancer Care shop. We are looking for someone with a pleasant, helpful and cheerful manner with the confidence to interact with customers.

Clissold Park
Learning and Engagement Volunteer
Are you interested in teaching or working with young people? Clissold Park is looking for volunteers to help support children, young people and adults explore their natural and built heritage. Volunteers will support the delivery and development of the community learning and engagement project, helping to organise and support outdoor education sessions for children and young people, as well as informal projects in the park and the volunteer programme.

St Mary’s Secret Garden
Gardening Buddies
St Mary’s Secret Garden is a horticultural project in Hackney – a small secret garden that is often described as a peaceful oasis in the middle of a very busy area. St Mary’s provides a number of projects including accredited horticultural education and therapeutic sessions, and is looking for volunteers to help students with gardening tasks and life skills on projects. No specific qualifications are needed, but ideally volunteers will have basic gardening skills and the ability to work with people with support needs and learning difficulties.

I CAN
Trust Fundraising Intern
Gain unrivalled trust fundraising experience with this great opportunity from I CAN – perfect if you’re looking to step into a fundraising career and want to learn how charities work. The Trust Fundraising Intern will work alongside the Trusts & Statutory Manager in researching new sources of funding and generating income.If you have an eye for detail, good writing skills and want to understand how charities work and how projects are run, then this is an interesting and enjoyable field to work in. You can expect to develop a range of skills and experience including research skills and valuable experience of working in a fundraising team.
