Volunteering for Hackney is a new project launched by Hackney Council to provide small grassroots community groups that operate at a very local level (no staff or maximum of one paid staff) with structured strategic support, to help them thrive and grow.
Groups will receive:
- help with fundraising,
- free meeting rooms,
- help with social media and communications,
- promotion and publicity of activities,
- free training on topics such as recruiting and managing volunteers, safeguarding and making volunteering more inclusive,
- being part of a new and exciting high profile project in Hackney.
Mayor of Hackney, Philip Glanville, said: “The work volunteers and community groups do in the borough underpins all that we are trying to achieve in making Hackney a better, fairer and more sustainable borough. I am passionate about community action being central to our political debates”.
Deadline to apply is 7th August at noon. For more information and to apply, go to www.hackney.gov.uk/community-partnerships or contact Agnes Gautier on [email protected]
