This summer the British Museum is hosting an ambitious youth volunteering programme involving seven weeks of professional discovery, training and employability skills followed by the delivery of volunteer-led tours at the British Museum.

The team are searching for 8 motivated and enthusiastic young people (ages 16-24), from range of diverse backgrounds and communities to help form a team of Young Volunteers. If you’re a youth support organisation that work closely with young people, the team are keen to hear from you.

Training for the volunteers will take place in July-August 2018 to explore the Museum as a workplace, and volunteers will work in teams alongside Museum staff to build employability skills, confidence and leadership before working as a team to develop and deliver 3 tours in the Enlightenment Gallery.

Interested applicants can sign up for a Taster Session (15 places) taking place on Tuesday 19 June 2018 1.30-3.30pm.  Interested applicants will then be asked to complete a short application to be submitted by Sunday 24 Jun, followed by a group assessment on Thursday 28 June and individual interviews on Friday 29 June.
