Embrace the atmosphere, music and spectacle of Carnival this summer through volunteering!! The collective efforts of volunteers such as dancers, costume makers, stewards, artists, local organisations and more makes Carnival bring diverse communities together and Hackney Volunteer Centre are jamming with opportunities to get involved.
Turn up the bass on Sunday 8th September 2019 as the Hackney Carnival will be back!
With fabulous costumes, energetic dance, sound systems and live music from around the world, community groups will join residents in a celebration of Hackney’s thriving cultures and outstanding creativity. Approximately 100,000 people are expected to attend this year and Hackney Council are seeking friendly and outgoing volunteers in various roles to make it a memorable event for them all.
Getting bigger and bigger year by year, Hackney welcomes those local and afar to get involved. As a volunteer, it will be a great opportunity to meet people from various backgrounds, you will gain event management skills and be amongst the celebration and receive £20 towards expenses for taking part. Dj’s, dance, surprise spoken word guest, food and more. There is something for everyone to get involved and enjoy. Culture vast and thriving.
