‘The session itself was exhilarating and meeting new people from different backgrounds was useful. The individual tasks opened up a new way of thinking – I feel more confident.’
Our next Get Into Volunteering session is taking place on Wednesday 9 May from 11am – 12noon here at the volunteer centre. This is a FREE 1-hour session that aims to help you explore your interests and skills, and help you think about what things to consider before you start volunteering. Informal and interactive, it’s a great way to ask all your questions about volunteering as well as meeting other local residents.
In the session we cover…
Why volunteer?
What kinds of volunteering can I do?
How do I start to search for a volunteer role?
How do I know it’s the right role for me?
How do I make the most of volunteering?
After the session, there will be time to search for your ideal role as well as enjoying some free refreshments and talking to other volunteers. If you’ve not been able to make it along to a volunteer fair, this is a great way to discover more.
