Hackney Community Transport are offering their minibuses for free to any groups who need minibuses for to deliver supplies to those in need in the community.
If your group is already a member of HCT, you are now able to make a booking online or over the phone. For those who have not previously used the service, please register here.
HCT hold records of drivers for existing groups who have already registered with them, but if you would like to use new volunteer drivers they will:
- need to have a current DBS
- they do not need to have a MiDAS certificate
- they must be over 21 years old
- have a minimum of 2 years driving experience and hold a full UK manual Driving Licence with B1 category
- they should not have more than 3 points on their licence.
As a standard procedure, HCT will conduct a DVLA online vehicle check once the drivers sign up and register.
These vehicles will be offered for free and will be provided with a full tank off fuel but we ask that the group’s driver top up the fuel they have used before they return the vehicle, along with a copy of the payment receipt to verify they have topped up. HCT will take a photocopy of this in their office or can scan a copy of the receipt to us via email.
All new drivers who have not used HCT vehicles before must attend an in -person briefing/training session with HCT prior to their booking, which lasts no more than an hour.
Please see the link here for full details of the offer.
