This is a great practical session to attend if you or your organisation is interested in:
- how to support vulnerable people during heatwaves
- exploring the effects of heatwaves, droughts, wildfires, and how these impact people in your community
- planning for the challenges of climate change in your community
- how to navigate the challenges your members or service users may have during the summer months
- connecting with other voluntary and community organisations and council teams
Facilitated by Volunteer Centre Hackney, this is a guided discussion exercise where we’ll explore how we can work together, sharing ideas and resources to help plan and prepare for potential emergencies. We’ll also be joined by Hackney Council’s Emergency Planning and Public Health teams who will offer advice and input.
We’ll also provide free refreshments plus time for networking.
Please note that this session is not front-line responder training, but attendees will be able to develop practical action plans for their members and service users.
