Help support your community in its time of need.
We’re looking for volunteers to make a real difference to the lives of someone in their local community by acting as a Community Supporter/Telephone Befriender. As a volunteer, you’ll help enhance a local resident’s life by supporting and promoting their confidence and helping them to thrive.
“I’ve had a great experience… this has been my first formal, long-term volunteering role so I feel I’ve also learned a lot.”
“You’ve been a great supervisor and mentor, and given me so much support, so I can’t thank you enough for that.” – Bo, Community Supporter/Telephone Befriender
COVID-19 has stretched us all, but also seen communities come closer together to support each other. The Community Supporters/Telephone Befrienders role allows us to support the most vulnerable members of our community and make sure that they aren’t missed.
With full training provided, we’ll make sure that volunteers are fully supported too. Training takes place each Wednesday morning, 10am – 11.30am on Zoom, with occasional evening sessions on a Thursday subject to demand (please note you only need to attend one training session).
To get involved, contact Tabinda at [email protected] or read more about the role here.
