VCH is seeking both full-time and part-time Community Development Officers to help deliver a new and exciting programme supporting local residents and patients to share their skills and volunteer at their local GPs.

You will be responsible for recruiting and engaging with local patients and residents to support them in delivering their own activities or fulfilling vital roles needed by their local practices. You will also train volunteers and facilitate partnership working between volunteers and staff.

The programme supports volunteers to carry out vital roles at their local practices, as well as encouraging them to create and deliver their own activities to benefit other patients.

So far, the programme has helped to set up walking groups, outdoor art classes, exercise groups, wellbeing support sessions and life coaching sessions, with scope for much more.

The role will require good self-motivation and confidence to work alone, as well as to build connections with the local community, promoting the project as a community hub with links to local groups.
