The cost of living crisis means that local services are facing even greater pressure, and those pressures are even more intense in the winter. The effects are especially felt in Hackney, where there are massive inequalities in health, wealth, and education. That’s where charities come in. They play a really important role in supporting services to make sure people can get the help they need.
We’re calling on you – whether you have an hour a month or a few hours a week, your time will make a difference.

Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community, meet new people, gain skills, develop your CV, and have fun. Our volunteer fair is the chance for you to chat to some of the 300+ charities and non-profit organisations we work with. It’s your one stop shop to find a volunteer opportunity that matches your interests and schedule. The event is free and open to everyone – so if you’re thinking about volunteering or already volunteer, come along and bring friends and family. You’ll have the chance to meet All Aboard Shops, Bags of Taste, Children with Voices, Energy Garden, Hackney Caribbean Elderly Organisation, Hackney Playbus, Hackney Showroom, Inspire Education, Made in Hackney, and Ministry of Stories.
