Are you a self-motivated, confident leader who enjoys motivating others, managing projects, and connecting individuals and organisations? Are you passionate about communities coming together to solve local issues?
We are recruiting a Team Leader for our resident engagement and social action programme across Hackney and the City of London. You would be joining a nationally recognised project, working with a whole range of community organisations and stakeholders including GP surgeries, local Councillors, mental health services, local authorities, to support residents to fulfil their personal goals, make connections with others, and design activities and services that meet local needs.
We support residents to come together to share their skills and experience for each other’s benefit and deliver local groups and activities. These are all designed by residents, and have included activities such as communal meals, film clubs, after-school clubs, exercise classes and even martial arts sessions! We bring people from diverse backgrounds together, build their skills and confidence, build strong local communities, and work together to make their area better places to live.
Our staff work together with GP practice staff to support patients, many of whom are isolated across all ages, and who have difficult life circumstances, to not only lead their own activities, but also to volunteer at the GP practice, to make it a more fulfilling place to visit. The ultimate outcomes are that residents develop new skills and pursue life goals, make new friends and contacts, improve their mental and physical wellbeing, and feel better able to voice their concerns to services.
In this role, you will be responsible for the management and support of around 6 to 8 staff working on this programme. You will also help build and sustain relationships with each GP practice and provide support to the Programme Manager, on aspects of programme delivery and quality review.
£34,000 per year + 5% pension contribution
