Mentor for Young Refugees

Help someone adjust to life in Hackney by acting as a Volunteer Mentor for Young Refugees with Breadwinners. Those keen to support someone with employability skills, future goals, and social skills would be a perfect match for the role. This organisation supports young refugees to become employed selling baked goods. Community Engagement Volunteer

Gamcare are looking for volunteer community engagement ambassadors to help raise awareness about the harmful impacts of gambling. Volunteers will be able to showcase their people skills by attending events across their local area and beyond, sharing information regarding gambling and gambling harms.

Neighbourhood Forums Volunteer

Want to voice your opinion on healthcare in Hackney? Neighbourhood Forums is looking for volunteers to help with events and provide support in promoting their Forums. You’ll help drive change and remove barriers to healthcare in your area by acting as a friendly face, setting up events, greeting guests and promoting community projects. The role is ideal for someone interested in getting stuck into multiple tasks and wanting to campaign for more equitable and accessible healthcare.

Peer Support in Pregnancy Volunteer

HENRY are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join them as 1:1 mentors to offer emotional, social and practical support to pregnant women and new families in the City and Hackney. Mentors will support families across a number of topics including maternal health and babies’ development and will identify support services within the City and Hackney community to help parents feel confident, connected and informed.

Turning Point are looking for volunteers to help at a busy drug and alcohol recovery centre, helping with day to day tasks, group work, and client support. You’ll support the team with the successful delivery of various interventions to our service users and gain experience within administration, group work and working with a vulnerable cohort of clients.
