Looking to take on a new volunteering role this year? We’ve got a host of new roles suited to a range of interests and availabilities.

Help in the response to coronavirus by signing up as a City and Hackney Public Health Community Champion and reduce the deadly impact of the disease by communicating vital public health messages in your local community.

We’re also looking for volunteers to join in supporting Hackney’s vaccination drive as Covid Vaccine Stewards, helping to guide individuals when they arrive for their vaccinations. We are especially interested in hearing from people able to speak second languages to help make sure everyone in our community is properly supported.

Young Hackney are seeking volunteers for their Young People’s Career Event to help inspire young people from across Hackney and give them real advice from the world of work.

Newington Green Alliance are looking for volunteers to act as Online Mentors for Adults, sharing their knowledge and experience to support people with career or life challenges.

Alongside this, Newington Green Alliance are in search of volunteers with experience producing videos, to create short films to help inspire people and build the local community.

If numbers are more your thing, Newington Green Alliance are also on the look out for an Online Bookkeeper to help them keep their finances in order so the Newington Green community can thrive.

Brownswood Mutual Aid are looking for volunteers to help them sort clothes at their clothes bank on Fridays, 10:45am to 12:15pm, as well as make food parcel deliveries to vulnerable self-isolating residents on Sundays, 12pm to 2pm, or Tuesdays, 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

If you are interested in helping with Brownswood Mutual Aid at St John’s Church (N4 2LW), and are able to spare a few hours, make sure to get in touch by leaving a message on 020 8809 6111, or emailing [email protected].

Abney Park Trust are in need of volunteers to fill a host of new posts, including with the Visitors’ Centre and Shop, as Theatre/Event Stewards, as Tour Guides, and with Abney Unearthed, helping to re-map, research and rediscover those interred in the cemetery.
