We cannot imagine being without it.

Our collaboration with Together Better has been fantastic. From the start, we felt well supported by coordinators and other staff. With the help of volunteers, we are able to offer additional services: providing personalized attention, assisting with non-medical needs, and creating a warm and welcoming environment. Together Better contributed to a sense of connectedness and social support, which are important factors in promoting overall patients’ well-being.

The Together Better program helped staff members forge stronger ties with the local community. They developed a deeper understanding of community needs and gain insights into the challenges faced by patients outside of the healthcare setting. This increased awareness can inform their approach to patient care and potentially improve patient outcomes. Together Better can provide opportunities for staff members to learn new skills, gain fresh perspectives, and enhance their professional development.

When staff witness the positive impact of volunteers through the Together Better program, it can boost their morale and job satisfaction. Seeing volunteers dedicate their time and effort to support patients or alleviate workload can create a sense of appreciation and motivation among staff members.

Together Better benefits not only the community and those receiving support but also the volunteers themselves. It offers an opportunity for individuals to develop new skills, gain valuable experience, expand their networks, and enhance personal growth. Volunteering can also have positive effects on mental health and well-being, promoting a sense of purpose and fulfillment.

Together Better can create lasting positive change and contribute to building stronger, more resilient communities. I believe it is important that it continues as we can see the positive impact this programme has on our patients.
