Volunteer Fair: Discover the amazing roles available in the City of London

Do you live or work in the City of London? Want to do some volunteering but don’t know where to start? Come and see us at our first ever Volunteer Fair taking place in the City of London.

Whether you’ve got one hour a month or a day per week, there are so many different ways to get involved with your community. You’ll be able to talk to local charities and hear directly from them about the amazing work they do and the type of volunteering roles they have.

The Volunteer Centre Hackney team will also be on hand to answer any volunteering related queries you have. The Fair is free – you can sign up in advance here – or just turn up on the day and find your perfect volunteering role!

Some of the organisations who will be there on the day are:

  • Age UK City of London provide activities and services to support social connection, health and wellbeing and digital inclusion amongst the elderly in the City of London.
  • Ascension Trust support vulnerable individuals at risk of suicide through its Bridge Watch programme in the areas on or around the bridges in the City of London.
  • City of London Corporation provide support and run programmes related to volunteering for individuals and organisations who are looking to get involved at City of London sites.
  • Climate Ambassadors aim to support education settings across the City of London to address climate change. Through the programme they aim to create and implement a climate action plan by looking at specific changes that can be made within schools and education federations.
  • Family Action provide practical, emotional and financial support to those who are experiencing poverty, disadvantage and social isolation across the City of London.
  • London Museum is dedicated to telling the story of London and Londoners with a collection of over seven million objects.
  • Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID) provides support to those in the City of London and beyond who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus.
  • Shoreditch Trust (WeConnect in the City) provide creative wellbeing activities alongside signposting support for City of London adults and young families.
  • The Guild Church of St Katharine Cree is a church for workers and residents in the heart of the City of London offering services and activities such as community meals, employment advice and much more.
  • Tempo Time Credits work alongside communities to value the time, skills and contributions of volunteers in the form of time credits. Working with community organisations, charities and business they aim to build and strengthen the connections between volunteers and the organisations they contribute to.
  • Wiilma aim to increase community cohesion and reduce loneliness and isolation through innovative community education and awareness projects centred around the creative arts, culture and heritage.
